Bachelor of Engineering in Global Management and Manufacturing

GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES ON OPTIMIZATION, MANAGEMENT & PRODUCTION
THE PROGRAM FOCUSES ON FOUR MAIN SUBJECT AREAS: OPERATIONS (BOTH PRODUCTION AND SERVICE PROCESSES), LEADERSHIP, SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT AND INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT WITHIN AN INTERNATIONAL CONTEXT.

The duration of the GMM program is three and a half years and gives the degree “Professionsbachelor”, which represents the practical experience gained throughout the education. Each semester is structured in the way, that theoretical knowledge is acquired in the first 8 weeks followed an 8 weeks project in a mentor company.

The Global Management and Manufacturing (GMM) program envelops multiple topics surrounding manufacturing, process optimization and management across different industries. It provides students the versatility of reflecting upon their theoretical knowledge and practical experience applying it in a multitude of settings. All of the learning is conducted in English, which along with the programmes focus on global markets and organizations, provides a solid base for future work opportunities in a wide array of multi-cultural environments, including global Danish companies.

Mentorship agreement

A unique aspect of the GMM program is the mentorship agreement. From the second to the seventh semester, students work in close collaboration with one or more companies of their choosing. This provides them with the opportunity to do research and problem solving in real-world settings, building further upon their practical knowledge and experience. The mentorship agreement aims to provide numerous opportunities for students to link theory and practice during their studies. Examples of companies participating in the mentorship agreement are big international companies such as LEGO, Arla, Vestas and Siemens but also smaller local companies.

You can get a fresh view on problems, and get resources and skills to come up with a solution to a problem collaborating with a student. A collaboration like this is a unique opportunity to solve specific problems with new theoretical and methodological inputs and with access to the knowledge and research at Århus University.
